To apply to this course, you must complete the online BIST Application
no later than 1 October 2010 (

If you have not done so already, create an Abroad Office account . You will need to log in before you can apply to this course and submit the required forms.
Write a one-page, single-spaced essay explaining why you want to participate in this particular Berea International Summer Term (BIST) course, including what you hope to gain from it and what you have to offer (eg, relevant background). Be thoughtful in what you write, since this essay will weigh heavily in the selection process. Save your essay as a Word document and upload it into the online application.
Go to the Student Service Center (Lincoln Hall) and request that an electronic copy of your academic transcript be sent to Søren Peterson.
NOTE: We request the names of two references, as well as your academic advisor and labor supervisor. BIST instructors may contact all of these people for recommendations.
